"Ahh, I know you really want to talk to me, but I'm a pretty busy guy, you know. I guess you'll just have to leave a message so I can get back to you later, hm?"
Miss Phillips, along with Miss Gabor, Miss Pellegrini, and Miss Burns, was arrested for participating in being an accomplice to taking over the radio station KJEM and performing a pirated broadcast. Miss Phillips and the others claim that they are completely innocent and were set up by Mr. Kite. She was brought in and detained, given one phone call, and received bail from Rio Pacheco. She was released the following morning of her arrest.
[being as technologically inept as souji is, it takes him a while to even see the message. he's not the best at paying attention to his cerevice for anything other than standard calls. so all this other stuff? new to him. he saw the prior spam, and automatically chalks it up to being just that.
souji still reads it anyway, his attention caught by the name "mr. kite" more than figuring out that this is about mary. especially since he has no idea was radio stations or pirated broadcasts are. it's a whole lot of jibberish, but he can put two and two together to make out the bits of her name.
...it's all information to be filed away for later, and he'll definitely be asking about this kite person later on. and yes, to souji, that's more important than there being an arrest record at all.]
[while i pretend i didn't muck up that last comment and didn't edit it twice, souji read that message and replied before seeing... well, the other message in his inbox.
it'll take him a few minutes to reply, because he really doesn't have this typing thing down yet at all, but...]
Who is bugging who, now? You're the one sending me messages, you know.
Besides, I don't think a guy who supposedly goes by " over_compensating " and wants no less than " ten boobs " has much of a right to go around calling people creeps.
[ A message pops up in your inbox from an anonymous source. How strange! If you don't delete it immediately, you'll be greeted with an audio message that's quiet, at first. In fact, it's quiet enough that just in time for you to turn it up, it starts to speak. It sounds suspiciously like Xerxes Break if you know him, but at the same time, there's a totally stupid voice being used, since it's not like Break would send this message along. Emily, though? Of course. She's such a gossip. ]
Had an x-ray done today. Guess what they found? It was you, safely tucked away in my heart! They said my heart is fine with a friend like you in it. Send this to all the people you love and care for, because if you don't, then something preeeetty bad might happen to them! Heart failure is pretty serious~! Kehehehehehe!!!
(( ooc note ; break is sending this to literally everyone in the game, so I'm sorry... Feel free to figure out he caused it, since it's not like he's trying that hard to hide it. ))
[ Guess who got the same chain mail that you did! Guess who took it way too serious and is now trying to make sure nothing bad happens to any of them by trying to figure out how many people there are that he cares about! If you guessed Heisuke, you'd be right. He's Very Worried about you. ]
souji the heart people said i had to send messages to all the people i know because otherwise bad things will happen to them and i know youd probably kill the bad things but i would just prefer you not have to do that so im telling you this and watch out for friends with xrays whatever those are
[this is really so baffling to heisuke. maybe it's because he thought the chain mail was exactly the same as other spam they got before—nothing he actually needs to pay attention to.
well, he still thinks that. now he just gets to be ridiculously amused that heisuke is taking it so seriously.]
I wasn' t aware that you worried about me so much. I don' t think there' s anything here that can kill me so easily. Though maybe you should find out what an xray is before taking it as a threat?
[it's undoubtedly weird. they definitely think much along the same lines, and they fight for the same causes—and it wouldn't surprise him if there are a great deal of other things they have in common. but things like that aren't what souji's interested in right now. right off the bat, there are definitely other sorts of concerns that would come first.
but even those? well, he's letting them slide a bit for the sake of conversation. he shrugs a little.]
I guess that may just be one of the ways that we differ, then. [since he's sort of the opposite. even if he maintains a certain respect level for elders and superiors, he's pretty casual about most things. and he doesn't particularly love when people are overly casual with him when he's the authority figure. not that he makes much of a big deal of it, but it's still something he considers. it's neither here nor there, though. he's not interested in forcing someone to speak more or less formally with him just because they share a name and basic history, after all.]
[It's really strange, this sense of... something. Solidarity, maybe? Not just because of what remains mostly unspoken about disease and loss, but simply because they somehow do share a place in the world, albeit probably surrounded by different circumstances. Souji can't help but deny that it makes him curious about exactly what differs about their respective lives, but even for someone as nosy as he is, that strikes him as rather invasive to just ask about.
He makes an amused little sound, distractedly scratching behind Saizō's ears, his smile slowly splitting into a grin.] Well, at least being formal doesn't mean that I'm well-mannered. Hijikata-san always likes to point out that I'm still a rude little brat.
[He rolls his eyes a bit, because really, it's not like Hijikata has any room to talk. At least Souji is mostly rude only toward people he knows, and in a fairly playful and familiar way. As opposed to some people giving the entire world the finger at times.] So maybe I can make up for the way I speak in other ways.
[for a moment, he makes a bit of a face. that's probably the most legit thing he's heard from his counterpart so far. it absolutely rings true and despite the the moment of mild exasperation, his own lips curve back into a smirk.
...which expands to a mischievous grin before he lets out an actual laugh.] I guess he really is a demon, no matter where he comes from. He doesn't have much to go on if he's as crappy a poet, though.
[meaning that hijikata never has any room to talk. a guy that can't string together a haiku when he's got entire books and a pen name like some kind of professional artist doesn't get to decide these things, in souji's eyes.] He brings these things on himself, after all.
[Sano is rather confused by this reply at first, so he sits at the bar and just stares at it for a while, as if that will make it make more sense. But it remains the same and he remains confused. Because he is sure that Shinpachi isn't asleep at all (since he's probably at the bar with him and even if he weren't, there's no way Shinpachi is asleep this early.
He also knows for sure that Shinpachi has disgustingly perfect blue eyes, okay, this is one of those heterosexual life partner test questions. Probably.
So that leaves another terrifying option.
And when Sano actually looks at the name of the person who sent said text, he starts to laugh, both in person and in text.]
Which isn't anything unusual, except that she chooses to take her stroll when the majority of the colony ought to be asleep. Even Ba'ul's presence is a drowsy constant in her mind, acknowledging but not actively participating.
... Which is fine. Judith's content to be alone with her thoughts-- or so she thinks, until she glimpses a figure (and a sword) up ahead. Curious, she moves towards it, silent, but not bothering to hide her presence. ]
[for souji, this is an ideal time to practice his own formations and stay sharp. he's well rested after sleeping through the morning and early afternoon hours, he's done his part of patrolling the high traffic areas before things quieted down, and now there's little else to do.
sure, he can keep patrolling, but it gets a little dull when there is a (seemingly efficient) police force and other bots around to keep things in check. so here he is, practicing as he would have back in kyoto. or at least, he's doing that until he can sense the presence of another person.
and souji's senses are sharp, so he's quick to turn in her direction, pinpointing where she is and pointing his sword exactly in her direction. he doesn't act further than that though, standing calmly in place. the fluorescent lights that hang overhead probably don't do much to flatter the curious expression on his face, but it's clear that he has an eyebrow arched curiously.]
It's not often people pass through here at this hour. [so who are you and what are you doing here, basically.]
[ Judith doesn't hesitate simply ("simply") because he has a blade pointed at her. Nor does she reach for her spear - yet- opting to merely raise an eyebrow in polite curiosity.
No, of course she's not even going to address the fact that he's holding her at swordpoint. ]
